[ Jackson hated the woods. They were filthy, exposed and unnecessary. Not to mention the insulting lack of supplies. The message, however, was a welcome invitation. But he didn't care about us-versus-them. It was him versus everyone else. Even what remained of his pack wasn't safe, if they chose to cross him. He could always bite more people.

Because Jackson? He was an alpha. A cold, uncaring, ruthless alpha. He never spent time as the kanima, lacking the issues that had led to that for his counterpart. He'd need some semblance of a heart to be anywhere near that. But he was also from a little further along the timeline. Having taken on the Alpha twins and taken their power from him.

He could be found stalking through the woods. Seeking his pack. Seeking infiltrators. Seeking anyone he could find an excuse to kill. ]

[ In looks, he is no different. But in voice, he certainly is. There's a cold stillness to him. An overwhelming sense of control. Making him sound closer to Peter Hale than the little ball of fury that was the original version of Jackson. ]

There is only one person who's going to win this. And no one will stand in my way. So we're going to work out a little deal. Anyone in my pack--[ The word sounded like poison on his tongue. ]--should already know what that is.

[His first surprise is the realization that she too, is fast - supernaturally fast, and agile. Claws that should have raked in deep and pulled out chunks of organs on the way out do find their way to flesh, but only scratches as she pivots out of the way. The movement is carried over with her sword as she sends it slashing toward his kidneys once he's past her.]

Lydia, run!

[Once he turns, Jackson will note his success in the form of crimson lines staining Kira's shirt across her lower ribcage...but also her eyes, now glowing fierce and bright and golden. Not beta yellow, but golden.]

[Lydia winces when Kira cuts Jackson with her blade, but she doesn't waste time. She knows Jackson, no matter how different this one is. And she knows he's not going to back down. He's not going to lose.

So she reaches inside her backpack and grabs a fistful of mountain ash, not hesitating before throwing it at Jackson's feet, from behind Kira.]

Stop, Kira. [He's trapped. And she doesn't want to leave him there like that. But it's either that or him hurting someone else. And more than likely himself.]

[ He twisted away from the blade to avoid losing a few vital organs. It still cuts deep, pulling a roar of pain from him.

Furious and wounded, he moved to strike again. But his hand was halted by an invisible barrier. Confused and angry, his gaze dropped to the ground. His anger turned sour, realizing what it was. He turned that furious gaze on Lydia, looking past Kira. ]

You're only delaying the inevitable, Lydia.

[lydiascreams]

I'm protecting you. You don't stand a chance.

[Her eyes narrow at him as a warning, but she reaches for Kira's arm and pulls her away from the barrier. They need to get away from him before he can figure out how to break out.]

[Keeping her eyes on Jackson and her sword in a ready position, Kira starts to back away.]

I'm not just a girl with a sword.

[She leaves it at that, prepared to leave in whatever direction best suits Lydia. She's not a fan of mountain ash herself.

Also, the barrier only extends so far. Jackson could figure out the whole 'see how far it extends and go around it' thing before they have a chance to lose him.]

[ And he'd find the limits of the barrier in short time. But he didn't go after them. There was easier prey out there. Less well armed. Human prey. He'd win this, without them. ]

[Her hand moves to his wrist when pushing him away proves useless, trying to stop him from actually breaking the skin... She didn't need claw marks in her neck from an alpha, things that would heal ridiculously slowly.

And then he just had to smirk, her own eyes flashing blue in response.

It was true, it had been what she wanted before, when it seemed like everything was lost - when it had been something to focus on, something to keep her going. But now?]

Go fuck yourself, Jackson.

[ The smirk grew into a grin before he slow pulled back. His claws raking over her throat without actually scratching her. ]

Stay away from Lahey. Or next time, I may not be so gentle.

[ He still had that alpha roar that he could use on her. To break her. ]

[She physically stills at the claws, but the rage was already running its course. Enough to not stop her mouth.]

Unless you plan on forcing me to be with you every second of every day, you know that's not gonna happen.

[There was always another way. Always. Her alpha had to sleep sometime.]

I'm gonna enjoy my time reacquainting with him and if you try and stop us, we'll just find another way.

[Scott doesn't trust it, really - this is not a Jackson he thinks he could trust. But he's still grateful for the privacy to grimace in.]

No offense, but I don't really want to put any effort into being like that asshole.

[ He steps back from her a little further, with an arrogant smirk. Oh. He didn't have to be there every second.

There's only a moment of build up as the smirk falls. Before he unleashes a massive roar at her. His entire body is involved in creating the force behind it. It was nothing but a display of power. To drive her to her knees. To force her to transform at his will. ]

[ This Scott was proving to be weaker and weaker. How hilariously pathetic. At least any other version Jackson had known at least had some strength. ]

Then why even try?

[He gets what he wants as she falls to her knees, hands clawing at the ground as the shift starts to take place. Unlike her real, she has greater control over her wolf - although that was all completely pointless right now.

She fights the shift as much as she can, the pain debilitating and only getting worse. Her body eventually gives out, sending her into a state of unconsciousness at his feet. ]

[ The roar doesn't stop until she's passed out. It tapers off and he's left with the most satisfied smirk on his face. Maybe he should start using that more often. It was so much more effective.

He left her there, as he had far more important things to tend to. Maybe, if he was lucky, someone cold and ruthless would happen by. He hoped they'd make her death slow if they did. ]

[He shrugs, shoulders coming up around his ears for a moment.]

Seemed like a good idea at the time? Look, Jackson, I'm not interested in a fight or, or whatever. I don't even really know how you guys, uh, get along.

[He really, really doubts they do.]

I'm just, I'm not him.

[ Jackson just smiled. A slow, cold sort of smile. ]

Which is exactly why I'm going to kill you, McCall. If you're not him, that makes you...an intruder.

[He doesn't want this fight. He doesn't want to find out who's stronger. But he's not going to lie down and bare his throat, either. His uneven jaw locks, and red fades into his eyes.]

[ As Scott's eyes fade, Jackson's own flare red, though his expression maintained that same cold, cocky confidence. ]

[He doesn't bother fully shifting, but his shoulders square and his voice takes on that deep, almost-growl quality.]

How did you become an alpha?

[He's bluffing. But he's gotten a lot better at it.]

You've missed the part where I want to. I've been told that killing one of your own gives you their strength. I wonder if the same thing's true for killing another alpha. Because, let's face it, you wouldn't stand a chance.

[He's bluffing, really, because mostly he doesn't know either. But if werewolves aren't evil like the Argents used to say - and he doesn't believe they are - then their leaders can't just be bloodthirsty monsters. He won't be that.]
