As the shield moved, the monster tried to lunge at Draco, as if it could break through a weaker edge. It growled and pressed lower to the ground, as if prepared to pounce. The appearance of the birds distracted the creature for a moment, but it snapped right back to Draco. With the shield gone, it could move in. It started forward, a slow, methodical step, when the first bird hit it.
