Character Name: Jackson Whittemore
Series: Teen Wolf
Age: 16
From When?: The second time he “died.” Stabbed by both Peter and Derek at the end of the Kanima incident, after asking Lydia if she still loved him and she lays him on the floor.

Inmate/Warden: Prisoner. This boy’s got issues. Counting having recently murdered nine people, even though they weren’t exactly his doing. The blood is still on his hands, and he’s guilty by the werewolf roles that govern eye color. For years, he knew his neighbor (and childhood friend), was being abused by his father. He heard and saw the yelling and beatings on a regular basis. But because it wasn’t his problem, he saw no reason to act or speak out. That, and he’s an insufferable, arrogant, selfish jackass. He has no issue with letting other people get hurt as long as it means he remains safe. He isn’t above using people and blackmailing them to get what he wants. He’s also in dire need of severe anger management, with the added bonus of supernatural rage on top of it. But mostly, it’s that murder and neglect things. While Stiles may have hurt a lot of people as the Nogitsune, that had little to do with Stiles himself. But Jackson’s own actions and behavior led to him becoming the thing that was a creature of vengeance and murder. So while the deaths were not a conscious choice of his, all of the bad decisions leading up to becoming the kanima were his and his alone.

Item: N/A

Abilities/Powers:

Transformation (partial): He’s not the sort of werewolf that turns into a big furry beast. Or any variation of an actual wolf. His face gets a bit more beastly, his eyes glow, he gets fangs, claws, pointed ears and a bit more hair on his face. Transformation isn’t always all at once. Sometimes it’s just claws, or the glowing eyes. Because apart from making him kinda fugly and furry this is extremely minor it will remain unchanged.
Blue eyes: Not really an “ability” but very important in the whole transformation thing. In the world of Teen Wolf, blue eyes are a mark of having killed innocent people. And even though it hadn’t been his choice, during his time as a kanima he killed many.

Physical ability: Anything physical that humans do, werewolves just do it better. They’re stronger, faster, more agile. They jump higher, react quicker and are all around superior. They can also take a great deal more abuse than the average human. This will all be severely toned down. Still better than a human, but nowhere near on par with the rest of his castmates. Which is going to REALLY piss him off.

Heightened senses: They can see, smell and hear far better than humans. And when used correctly, this heightened sense can be honed to sense things that may otherwise be undetectable (IE Scott “sensing” the abuse that Isaac suffered). Range and intensity will be dialed back quite a bit.

Healing: Visibly rapid healing. Injuries that would cripple a human, or at least take weeks for a human to recover from are healed in minutes or hours. However, wounds from an alpha will take much longer, but still heal faster than a human. Weapons tainted with wolfs bane can easily poison or even kill with even minor wounds. Whether a separate ability, or just linked with their ability to heal more quickly, they seem to also have a much greater pain tolerance. But he’s not going to be able to heal nearly as fast. And it will take a lot less to damage him.

Pain relief: With a touch, and a little focus, a werewolf can draw out another’s pain--whether human or animal. At least temporarily. While all werewolves seem to have this, Jackson does not yet know he can do it. But if he’s taught, it’s going to take a lot more effort.

Weaknesses:
- Wolfsbane acts like a poison or toxin, the exact effects vary on type
- Mountain ash (rowan tree) can be used to create barriers that werewolves cannot cross
- Directly applied electricity can prevent wolves from transforming or using any of their abilities
- Even when practiced, they are held under the sway of the moon, they require a great deal more control during the full moon than any other time of the month. Newly bitten werewolves are unable to control themselves at all on their first full moons and require physical restraint.
- Extremely short temper, in conjunction with the whole werewolf thing, means far less control in general for Jackson

Personality: There was a point when Jackson had it all. He was a star athlete, the most popular guy in school, and had the perfect girlfriend. He was (and still is) great looking and has amazing charm when he needed it. And a massive ego that was only boosted by these facts.

How he treats people works on a simple hierarchy of what they can do for him. For the most part, he sees no value in them and they are met with condisention, indifference and insults. He’s better than they are. People who fall lower than this default lack of value--people who he finds to detract from what he has to offer rather than enhancing it--are met with open hostility. Either verbal or physical. The step above the default indifference is minor respect. People who can do things for him, or help him advance through life. This is a place reserved for his coach, his teachers, etc. He is still not overly nice to them, but he does manage to pull back the hostility. Though it does not automatically include general authority figures, just the ones who can directly improve his life. Any who stand his way (like the Sheriff) get no respect, and frequently a lot of insults. And above the teachers were the select few. The people he came closest to trusting. But mostly just his best friend Danny. But even then, most still get an edge of his attitude. Being so trusted, they are seen as a potential threat. They know his secret. Only Lydia, his girlfriend, falls outside any of this. She was the only one to have a strong enough connection with him to reach him when no one else could. But not even she was always above his hostile behavior. And even know a lot of the issues have come to the surface, she still isn't entirely safe from his bad moods. He has new insecurities to deal with, and his fear of losing her as an anchor will make him act irrationally. And there is one final category: Those who know as much as Lydia but are not anywhere near as trusted (Scott, Stiles, Isaac, etc). They are an open threat to Jackson’s emotional security. Rage and fury is pretty much all they get.

However, the arrogance and attitude, even a lot of the anger, is all a facade.

It isn't that he is better than everyone else, it is that he MUST be better. In his mind, there is no other option. His parents and teachers believe that it was because at a young age (5 or 6 years old), he was told he was adopted--this drive to be better is to impress a father he will never meet. Though it is likely a lot simpler than that. Not necessarily trying to impress his biological father, but a twisted drive to just prove he's worth keeping around. A warped variation on a fear of being abandoned. He makes it so he's too valuable to lose, or rejects anyone else before they could do the same. He is incapable of truly connecting with anyone. He uses his hostility as a wall to keep anyone from even considering there might be something under his ego worth connecting to. And even if such a connection does happen, he is never able to truly express it. In the most dire of situations, when he truly does feel it, he cannot say the words "I love you." Not to his family. Not to his girlfriend. Not when it is that very feeling that saves him from being a savage, homicidal lizard.

This is all compounded by a hair-trigger temper. When confronted with what he perceives as inadequacy in himself--if there is someone better than he is, or if he cannot meet his own standards--he lashes out. When alone, it is expressed in any way possible. With no one to witness his behavior, it often takes the form of aggression toward inanimate objects followed by a mental breakdown. Given how it's shown in a few scenes, it is very similar to (or may actually be) a panic attack. If another person is the cause, they are the target. They only see his anger, in the form of direct physical aggression, verbal insults or just a general storm of rage. This is even worse now that he's a werewolf. Newly turned wolves are show as having a very difficult time handling themselves under anything that increases their heart rate.

This is all fueled by one simple thing. The thing that lies at his very core, fueling all of these fears and acts of aggression. Massive walls built to protect the fact that he is scared and alone. Desperately alone, by his own actions and lack of trust. Afraid of not succeeding. Afraid of those who genuinely and severely out match him. And as much as he tries to hide this, it is too massive to mask. This is why he is so very aggressive against those who he feel detract from the persona he’s built. They are an even bigger threat than those he trusts, because they are the most likely to expose him.

In the wake of all that happened to him as the kanima and being directly controlled by two different people, he has so additional issues. Lingering lightmares, and severe issues in regards to both consent and control. He was mentally violated and used by a psychotic teenager. But as of yet, he’s had no chance to even have that set in or any of the issues to really manifest in full. There will be fallout from this, and will hamper his progress for quite a while.

Ultimately, he has severely, deep-seeded issues that require psychological help that he hides with anger and arrogance.

If there were any positives to his personality, it would be that he is very driven. He will not give up until he gets what he wants. That doesn't just apply to getting things out of other people through charm or harassment. But also out of himself. He will push himself far harder than he does anyone else, to achieve any goal necessary.

Barge Reactions: Anger. Indifference. Attitude. He’s not going to take well to being an inmate. A lot of demands to speak to his father, and reminding people that his father is a lawyer. Threats of legal action. And a lot of physical violence. He’s better than everyone and deserves to be treated as such. He earned his power as a werewolf, or so he says, and he deserves access to the full strenght of his abilities.

Breaches and floods are going to be an especially interesting experience. He has extreme issues with being changed, altered or forced to act against his will after everything that happened to him. He’s going to have himself a crisis or two or twelve after each one that affects him, as he’s incapable of handling any issues in a constructive or healthy way.

Path to Redemption: He’s a stubborn one. He’s pulled from a point where he’s more open to it than he would have been previously, but he has far more issues to tackle. His biggest obstacle is that he thinks he can only reply on himself and no one else. That allowing anyone behind his carefully constructed walls is a punishable offense. He needs to learn to accept help from others. He needs to learn to trust his friends. But ultimately, he needs to forgive himself for the people that were killed. Most of the guilt stems from the fact that his own behavior and choices led to his becoming the kanima. He demanded the bite. His own attitude is what made him the kanima. He invited Matt into the whole scenario. He couldn’t stop it himself, even once he knew what was happening. He refused any help offered. Therefore, those murders may as well have been pre-meditated by him. He needs to reconcile with his past and see that he had no control over what Matt made him do. The best way for this to happen will be to integrate with the pack. To get Isaac’s forgiveness. To accept Scott as an alpha. And for the first time, know what pack actually feels like. Accepting someone as an alpha will be the truest sign that he’s redeemed himself, as it means he’s willing to accept that someone is allowed to be better than he is. And that feeling of family and of belonging will help him heal.

History: A more or less complete history of one asshole werewolf right here.

Sample Journal Entry:
[ The face that fills the frame is handsome in that douchebag model kind of way. Well, it would be, if he weren’t so incredibly pissed off. ]

I don’t know what kind of sick joke this is, but someone out there is going to give me answers! Derek? Stilinski. MCCALL! I don’t care who! But you’re going to tell me what the HELL is going on and WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE REST OF MY HOUSE!

[ His seething rage seems to overpower him for a moment, his teeth grinding together. ]

If Stilinski had anything to do with this, he’s DEAD.

Sample RP: His eyes snapped open and he sat up all at once. At first, he wasn’t aware that he wasn’t on the cold floor of an old warehouse. He was only aware of the sudden intensity of everything. Smells. Sounds. Light. It all blurred together into a blinding, deafening, dizzying rush. Claws and fangs extended as he let out an involuntary roar.

But as the rush passed, he was left standing in the middle of his room. Naked. Confused. He went straight to the mirror, one clawed hand gripping the edge. He caught his reflection just in time to see the fangs and other features retreating. He’d done it. He’d finally become what he’d been after all along! He was struck with startling color of his eyes. Was it because Derek was the one to bite him? Derek had blue eyes before they’d brought Peter down. But everyone else had yellow. Maybe it was just rare?

He could think about that later. For now, there was something more important to do. He started getting dressed. He was pulling on his jeans as it slowly came together. The important thing he had to do was find Lydia. The key she’d offered to save him. But that had been in a warehouse. How was he back here? Where was she? He needed to find everyone else. Get answers. He snatched up his phone from the dresser and stopped. It was a phone, but not his. Those idiots!

Shoving it into his pocket, he headed for the door. Beyond should have been the upstairs hall of his house. The familiar smells of home. But instead he was greeted by the harsh light of the unfamiliar corridor, lined with strange doors. He took a cautious step out of his room, manicured brows furrowing.

“MCCALL!” He called out, confused and angry. But then the smallest note of worry and fear entered his voice as he added, “Lydia?”

Special Notes: He is a massive ball of manpain and angst. A giant teenaged man-baby who can’t handle anything. There WILL be tears. But all joking aside, what happened with the kanima thing, with both Matt and Gerard controlling him, is pretty severe. And it gets into some pretty serious non-con territory. I will be handling the fallout of this accordingly, and do what I can to be mindful of those who might be uncomfortable with such topics.
